Treble Strings offers home lessons because it allows students to learn where they are most comfortable, and it is often more convenient for students and their families. It is also better for instruments because they are not transported as often, which means the temperature and humidity conditions can be controlled. Students who take home lessons are advised to setup their instruments and music stands prior to the instructor's arrival and also to tune if they know how to do so. This increases the amount of lesson time that can be dedicated to learning. Lessons need to be held in common areas, such as a living room, not private areas like bedrooms. If the room in which lessons are held has a door, the door needs to remain open. Instructors should not be alone with students under the age of 18. Parents do not need to remain in the room, but they need to be within shouting distance in case of an emergency. Instructors are advised not to enter the home of a minor student unless a parent or other responsible adult is present.
