The Practice Game
The purpose of The Practice Game is to help musicians of all ages and skill levels approach practice as a fun and rewarding activity, rather than a chore. It also replaces the use of a timer and encourages deliberate practice. You do not have to purchase anything from Treble Strings to play The Practice Game. All you need to do is get some notecards and download this file:
Write each task you need to complete in your practice sessions on separate notecards. Perhaps organize them in categories such as Scales/Warmup, New Assignments, and Review. Then, work your way through the cards. Do what the first one says, roll the die and move, do what the next card says, and so forth. Practice ends when you make your way around the board or run out of cards. Feel free to change the rules to make the game more interesting.
We have cards, game boards, practice journals, and other accessories to add to your game or to help you remember to play. These items can be purchased below.
